The Sno Riders’ Peak

April 2009

THE NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD ON
Wednesday, April 15th at 7:30
at Sculley’s Tavern on Rte. 207 in Rock Tavern.

The usual…

The meeting was called to order at 8:00.The minutes from the February meeting and the Treasurer’s Report were read and approved. The meeting was adjourned at 8:50.

The Club is hosting a spaghetti dinner on April 25th at the Wallkill Fire House from 4pm to 7pm. The cost is $10 per person, with all proceeds to benefit the son of a club member who lost an eye in an accident last October. The family’s insurance is not covering most of the expenses associated with his care, including the multiple surgeries and his prosthetic eye. The $10 entrance fee includes all you can eat spaghetti, salad, bread and drinks. There will be raffles and a 50/50 as well. Please call Sue at 845-895-2756 to purchase tickets or make a donation.

Elections!!

From our Election Committee: Elections are over! The Executive Board officers are:

  • President – Mark Heinzelman
  • Vice-President – Eric Miller
  • Treasurer – Sue Heinzelman
  • Secretary – Jocelyn Lange

The five Board of Directors members are: Sharon Miller, Bill Kelly, Rick Bonita, John Kissel and Dave Cordner.

Raffle Sled

  • Mark – There are a number of sleds up for contention for the 2009 Raffle Sled. The club voted to purchase either a SkiDoo MX2500SSTNT for $6,000 or a SkiDoo MX2500SS Trail for $5,850 from Moroney’s.
  • Rick – We’ll get 1200 Raffle Tickets. The prizes remain the same – the sled as 1st Prize, $300 for 2nd Prize, $200 for 3rd Prize and $100 to the person who sells the winning ticket. 3 tickets will be sent to each member.
  • Mark – December 5th will be the Christmas Party and Raffle.

And from the rest of the meeting…

  • Per Eric – After lengthy discussion about costs, the Grass Drags have been called off.
  • Also per Eric – We need a Skandik for the trails. Kevin – The Sullivan Club paid about $7,500 for their Skandik. Please get pricing on Skandik for the April meeting.
  • Mark will approach Moroney’s about hosting a swap meet.
  • Kevin announced the NYSSA Annual Meeting is being held April 17-19th. Attendees go to classes, and participate in a NYSSA Forum. If you wish to participate as a voting delegate, please contact Sue. The club will once again cover the expenses of members who attend.
  • Kevin also attended the Wurtsboro Winter Fest. Entrance was free, but not too much was happening snowmobile-wise. There were other attractions.
  • Sue will hold another Safety Course on October 3rd and would love it if other club members could become instructors. Potential instructors will need to attend Sue’s course and two others. Please speak to Sue if you are interested in attending the Safety Course.
